Begin Training at Different Times During the Day 

Many summer camps start the day with dance classes before breakfast, have classes throughout the day, and may even have extra training sessions at night before you go to bed. If you are used to dancing at one time of the day, such as after school, consider shifting your schedule around to make sure you get used to dancing at different times throughout the day. This can make getting up and starting your dance classes immediately during the first week of camp easier. 

Add a Variety Of Aerobic and Strength Training To Your Exercise Regime 

While you may want to add another dance class before dance camp, it is a better idea to arrive at camp with solid basic technique and be prepared to learn different techniques and styles there. Instead, consider adding aerobic and strength training into your weekly exercise routine. For example, you may want to take a yoga class and add running or swimming a few times a week into your schedule. This will help ensure that you have the physical endurance to keep dancing all day at camp. 

Get Plenty of Sleep the Weeks Before Camp 

It is important that you arrive at camp well-rested so you have the energy and focus to learn new techniques and practice them. Although it might be tempting to stay up late with your friends during the weeks before you leave for camp, you should make sure that you follow a strict sleeping schedule similar to the one you will have at camp. This may mean waking up early and going to bed slightly earlier than you normally would during the summer.

It is important that you properly prepare for dance camp by adjusting your schedule to the camp's schedule and preparing your body for intense physical activity.
